The Art of Body Building: How to Gain Muscle (part 2 of 2)

So, the key to muscle gain is to actually get enough rest after working out. It is not advisable to work out the same muscle group everyday as it will not efficiently gain muscle as it takes at least two days of good sleep to fully replace the injured muscles with much bigger and stronger muscle tissues. So, when you work out, try providing some intervals on what muscle group you have to work out on each day.

A good example would be working out the chest and triceps on day one, back and biceps on day two, and legs and shoulders on day three. The abdominal muscles should be worked out everyday.

Try to provide four to five exercises on each of the muscle groups with 3 sets with 10 repetitions each.

However, you might want to change the exercises for each muscle group every two weeks in order to avoid the plateau where the muscles will get so used to the exercises that it will not grow any larger.

Another mistake that people do when it comes to body building is that they often execute the exercises at a very fast rate. They may think that this is a more efficient way to build muscles, but it's actually not. You have to execute the exercises in a smooth, controlled, and slow motions in order to promote maximum muscle contractions.

These are just some of the correct ways to gain muscle. Always remember that muscle gain is not just about lifting weights but there is a system that you need to follow in order for you to gain muscles efficiently and get the results you want at the soonest time possible. In fact, it is very possible to gain muscles in just a matter of weeks. Do it right and you will see fast results.

The Art of Body Building: How to Gain Muscle (part 1 of 2)

A lot of people don’t know for a fact that there is a right way to gain muscles and there are wrong ways to do it. And, many people do the wrong way and ends up getting frustrated as they can't get the results they want.

Doing it the wrong way will not only mean slow results, but it will also mean injuries that may hinder you from exercising regularly and correctly.

Body building is also considered as science. There are correct procedures for it in order for you to get the results you want.

First of all, a lot of people think that in order to gain muscle, they need to exercise the same muscles everyday. This is in fact a mistake. It will do the exact opposite of what you want. Instead of gaining muscles, you will in fact lose muscles.

Lifting weights does not make your muscles bigger. It injures it. So, when you lift weights, you are deliberately injuring your muscles. So, which part of the exercises makes the muscles bigger? Well, you'll be surprised to know that resting is what makes the muscles bigger.

For example, if you worked out your biceps, you are deliberately injuring it. When it is injured, the body will react by producing more muscle tissues in the injured part in this case, the biceps. The fastest way to repair muscle and gain muscle tissues is if you sleep. This is the time where muscle repair is the most efficient.

The Different Forms of Birth Control (part 2 of 2)

Implant Contraception
Through this method, a rod will be inserted under a woman's skin. This rod will release small amounts of progestin, a type of hormone, into the bloodstream. This is not so popular because it causes heavy bleeding.

Injected Ones
You can also opt to inject that contraception. This method can be done just once in every three months. Most of this type contains only progestin. This will stop a woman from ovulating and will halt the eggs that have been fertilized to be implanted on the uterine lining.

Condom for Women
This can also be called Fermidom or female condom. This can be likened to a loose pouch that is used to line the vagina. This has flexible rings at its two ends. This can be bought without prescription, but isn't really that popular that is why it is hard to find it in stores.

Condom for Men
This is being used by men during the sexual act itself to avoid his discharges from being transferred into his partner that may later cause pregnancy. This will also help prevent transmission of the diseases caused by sex.

The Natural Family Method
This can be done by religiously looking at your calendars. Women must take note when they last had their menstrual period so that they could avoid making love with their partners on those days when they are fertile.

The abovementioned are some of the different forms of birth control. Choose the one that fit you best if you don't want to opt for the pills. That way, you will avoid getting pregnant and you will also not be subjected to the pills' main side effect, that is gaining weight.

But if indeed there is a case wherein a woman chooses to gain more weight for health related issues, they will resort to other means. This is especially true if the person involved is not sexually active and don't have a dependence on birth control pills.

But if the person who wants to gain weight and has also used the pills, she may just continue doing so for the purpose of adding up more pounds. There is nothing wrong with that especially if she is only doing what she thinks is right.

But to get a scientific truth to the claims, she may also opt to see a doctor to ask for advice on what pills to take for the purpose of adding more weight. Golf Swing Fundamentals (part 2 of 2)

Keeping your head straight and with eyes on the ball will definitely help those who have constant problems with their golf swings. The next step required is to assume the correct position of knees and feet. The feet have to be planted onto the ground and the knees are to be straight while allowing pivoting to occur. Bend a little bit forward at the waist and look right at the ball. Minimize hip rotation to prevent swaying and do not overdo your backswing. This way, your left shoulder should hit your chin upon swinging.

Prevent this by lifting your head a bit until your shoulder doesn't hit your chin anymore. In this position, slowly do your backswing and downswing while staying focused on the ball. A practice swing is best done first before actually hitting the ball. Practice your golf swing by focusing on straightening your head and keeping your eyes on the ball.

Position and balance are the most crucial points of a golf swing, leading to consistency and good power. Another thing that needs to be focused on is relaxation. Being tense can only make one's golf swing worse. By relaxing your muscles, you can maintain your balance and flow with the swing as smoothly as possible. Practice this while maintaining your position. While this can be daunting at first, you can make things easier for yourself by breathing at a relaxed pace while maintaining the position without tensing your muscles.

Hold this position for around 15 seconds before doing your swing during practice. Keep your weight even on both feet and try to not tense yourself. This is a good way to improve your golf swing.

Golf Swing Fundamentals (part 1 of 2)

Golf is definitely a game where an individual's discipline, determination, and heart can be measured. While others tend to see the game, when watching golf being played, as completely boring, this sport can truly reel you in. You just need to get ahead with your golf swing.

While the basics are the same for everyone, the differences in body types and mentalities bring forth a multitude of differences in the game that can cause confusion for most beginners. As such, one must adapt to his/her body in learning how to perform the perfect golf swing. While the perfect golf swing is there, it is elusive as it is different for every individual. Practice and knowledge are the keys to success in golf, and muscle memory is what you are trying to ingrain into yourself. Once you have the proper golf swing in your system, confidence in your game and calmness of mind shall follow.

Basic Principles

One of the most fundamental principles that can be applied for immediate improvement in the golf swing is to keep your head still and eyes on the ball. This is to straighten your spine's alignment and to aim at the ball properly. The spine is the axis that you are to swing with, so you have to keep yourself straight in order to achieve any positive result. Keep your head straight by raising your nose up. Your left shoulder should be under your chin by the time you are to swing. Tucking your head into your chest is not the way to go. The best way is to keep everything straight so that you can hit the ball dead center.

Halloween Games for Kids (part 2 of 2)

Another Halloween game is called Wonder Brain which is very similar to musical chair. The only difference is that you don’t have to sit down when the music stops because the participant gets eliminated only when the item is still in their possession.

The reason why they call it wonder brain is because you are letting them carry a fake brain. There are many ways to do this and one example is by using a few paper towels, a freezer bag and some red dye. The game begins when the kids form a circle. The brain is passed from one kid to the next and when the music stops, whoever has it is out until the last person standing becomes the winner.

The kids can also play pumpkin toss. Here, you hang a large pumpkin on the ceiling with holes in the middle. The kid who is able to shoot the most number of rolls of socks or bean bags is the winner. To make it more challenging, award points for the eyes, nose and mouth. Who scores the highest number of points wins.

The last game is called Pin the Skeleton which is just like Pin the Donkey. The mechanics of the game are the same which includes blind folding that person. Since the skeleton does not have a heart, you have to pin this onto it and whoever is able to do this successfully wins.

There are other Halloween games which you can plan for the kids. You can even make certain variations to those mentioned and still let them enjoy a fun filled activity. So before the party begins, make sure that you already have a program ready. It will be a good idea to have 4 or 5 games so everyone will be able to participate instead of just watching from the sidelines.

Halloween Games for Kids (part 1 of 2)

Trick or treating is just one of the activities you can do for Halloween. If you are throwing a party, you should have a few games so the kids can have fun.

The first game is called wrap the mummy. The objective here is to see who can wrap the mummy the fastest. Since the mummy could be quite big, it is best to group the participants in groups of two. With the materials in hand, you tell them to begin the moment you start the clock. Whoever finishes first wins a prize.

Next is the Great Monster Off. While most the kids come dressed to parties, tell your guests not to so they can play this game. With materials that you will be providing them, the kids will make their own. You can then give awards for those who have the cutest, scariest, funniest and most creative outfits.

One of the more common games for kids and adults as well is Apple Bobbing. You again group the kids in teams of two and after one kid bobs an apple, he or she has to do a certain task before the other member is able to do it.  The one who finishes first will win the prize.

Since there will be water spilling on the floor, make sure that you have other adults other than yourself to supervise. Accidents do happen and this should be avoided when it is all about having fun.

Choosing A Flex Rating For Your Golf Clubs (part 2 of 2)

The speed of your swing is the biggest factor when you decide to get into the more technical side of shaft flex choice. It all depends on how you swing the club. The fastest swingers tend to stick with stiffer shafts – if your club travels like greased lightning, then the XS style shaft is probably the best choice for you. If you tend to have a slower and more controlled swing, you can stick with R or even L. The letters are arbitrarily assigned based on data gathered on swinging habits, and if you are a man that needs a “Ladies” style shaft, there is no shame in sticking with what you need in order to play your best.

The material of the shaft can also affect the way that you swing it. Graphite and steel are the two materials that almost every golf club is made out of, and each of them is very distinct when you look at them from a flex viewpoint. Steel clubs have a lower torque rating, which means that they will be useful more to one group of golfers than another. When you are faced with the choice of picking new golf clubs, it is a good idea to know which one you prefer so that you can choose the one that you will be most accustomed to.

Picking the flex level of a new set of golf clubs can be one of the hardest choices you will make, especially if you are new to golfing. But once you try out enough and get a feel for your personal needs, you will know it for the future. Every time you buy clubs from then on, you will know exactly what to choose, and you will always be able to stick with the same clubs. This allows you to really be constant in your game, and improve your skill.

Choosing A Flex Rating For Your Golf Clubs (part 1 of 2)

When you pick golf clubs, you may be overwhelmed by how many things you have to take into consideration. The length of the shaft, the weight of the head, the grip, and many other smaller details combine to make clubs that are perfect for your golfing style. Perhaps the most important factor is that of the flex of the golf clubs that you are buying. There are different flex ratings for different golf clubs, and choosing the right one can have a great positive effect on your game. It may be difficult to understand at first, but you should be able to pick a shaft with the perfect flex for you with no problem after you familiarize yourself with some of the basics of shaft flex.

The bend of a shaft is very subtle and imperceptible, and causes the greatest effect during your swing. The force and momentum of the club head cause a very small flex in the shaft. Depending on the material and production techniques used on your club, this flex can range from extremely stiff to fairly flexible. If you aren’t sure about the particular clubs that you have been using in the past, then you may consider asking a golfing expert to look at them and see if he can’t discern it. If you can find out what you have been using previously, then you will have a much easier time switching to something new.

The four main flex ratings are L, R, S, and XS. These stand for Ladies, Regular, Senior, and Extra Stiff. Usually L, R, or S should work fine for the casual player, so it is a good idea to simply try out the golf clubs in the category you fit into. You will find more often than not that this level of flex is perfect for you. However, if you don’t feel comfortable with the clubs then you will probably want to delve into a more technical process of choosing your shaft flex. This is accomplished by closely analyzing your swing, and deciding from there what the best course of action is.
